Hike of the Month - Grassy Knob Loop

I don't know much about happiness, but I'm pretty sure it starts with being outside! Hiking is one of my favorite hobbies and we are lucky to live in a place with opportunities for new views. I'm offering (for free) 6 guided hikes this year, one per month. This will be our fourth hike this year!

About the event
You know what they say...life's just one big adventure! We'll be hiking a 5 mile loop with approximately 1,000 feet elevation gain. This hike will be moderately challenging - we will begin with a series of switchbacks up to Grassy Knob (with long range views of Bad Creek and Lake Jocassee) looping around down to the Whitewater River (above the falls). We will continue down the steps to the Whitewater viewing platform before returning on the Foothills trail back to our vehicles.
NOTE - we will not be parking in the Whitwater Falls lot - our group will meet about .5 mile further down towards the state line in a gravel lot (on the waterfall side of 281) where the Foothills trail connects from one side of the road to the other. If your coming from Wigginton, it will be the first gravel parking area after you cross the NC…
