How are you tracking your fitness progress?
Weight loss can be an important method in trying to live a healthier lifestyle. Oftentimes, we use a bathroom scale to help us track how much weight we're losing. But doesn't it seem like that new diet or exercise you've been trying only helps you lose weight temporarily? And sometimes, you end up gaining even more weight? Does it feel like nothing really works out the way you were expecting? That's because your bathroom scale is misleading!
Ditch the scale! Your weight is made up of muscle, fat, and water. The key to effective weight loss is losing excess body fat, not overall body weight! Weight loss is not the same as fat loss. Instead of tracking how heavy your body weights, use a body composition analysis to track how healthy you really are!
What is Body Composition Analysis?
Body composition analysis refers to measuring your body composition, generally known as your body muscle, fat, and water. Instead of focusing on a single number on the sale, body composition analysis allows you to focus on losing body fat and gaining lean muscle, while retaining the proper amount of body water in specific areas of your body. Body composition analysis is the key to tracking and maintaining effective weight loss. Lose weight smarter, healthier, and happier!
I have invested in the InBody 270 machine as an assessment resource for my clients and the local community. The InBody 270 accurately measures your
composition in less than 15 seconds, and prints out a results sheet that we review together regarding your current body composition. This results sheet will tell us your body weight in total, and how much of the total weight is water weight, lean muscle, and body fat. It will calculate your percentage of body fat, skeletal muscle mass (percentage of muscle attached to bones and aiding in movement), and even your BMR (basal metabolic rate). It will also break your body into five quadrants (both arms, both legs, and your trunk/torso) to identify lean mass in each quadrant and percentage of how much that quadrant can support your body weight (with a goal of over 100% in each). This section will also help identify imbalances and deficiencies. Finally, the results sheet will track your 8-scan history so you can visualize your improvement over each scan!
InBody Scans will be included in all New Client assessments, as well as before/after assessments for boot camps. Requests for additional scans can be made at a nominal cost to you. Please message me with any questions!
